Ronnie Dean Newbill Jr.

March 30, 1988 — March 23, 2025

Alton

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Ronnie Dean Newbill Jr., who departed this life on Sunday, March 23, 2025, just shy of his 37th birthday. A resident of Alton, Virginia, Dean was born in South Boston, Virginia, where he crafted a life filled with love, generosity, and remarkable talent.

Dean was a gifted auto mechanic, a vocation he embraced wholeheartedly. Formerly employed by Shadetree Automotive and True Value, Dean’s skill was renowned. Known to be incredibly mechanically inclined, he possessed a rare ability to repair almost anything—from cars to lawn mowers. His passion extended beyond his professional work as he frequently helped friends and neighbors with their repairs, often refusing compensation. Dean’s kindness and willingness to help others will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Outside of work, Dean found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly fishing. This affinity for nature was a testament to his calm and patient spirit. Beyond his professional life, Dean was an ardent fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years and cherished spending time with family, especially his stepchildren, to whom he was a devoted stepfather.

He is survived by his loving parents, his devoted sister, Tina Renee Elliott, step-sister, Courtney Newbill, and many beloved aunts and uncles who cherished him deeply. Ronnie was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carl Edward Newbill Jr. and Peggy Guill Snead, as well as his maternal grandparents, Thomas Elliott and Katherine Pruitt Elliott.

A private graveside service will be held to honor Ronnie’s life, allowing his family and close friends to celebrate the beautiful person he was.

Dean's family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.

Dean will be greatly missed, but his legacy of kindness and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
