Rosa Moore Thames

Rosa Moore Thames, 84, widow of Billy Thames, died Friday, November 21, 2008 at Somerset in South Boston. Rosa was born and reared in Skipwith and was the daughter of Josiah McDuffy and Edna Winn Moore. She was a graduate of Clarksville High School with the class of 1942 and was retired from Central Fidelity Bank with 20 years of service. A former member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Rosa was a current member of Clarksville Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held there at 3PM Sunday with the Reverend Greg Randall officiating. Interment will follow at Oakhurst Cemetery. Rosa is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Doug Wilkinson of Chester, and Joan and Steve Roberts of Clarksville. Grandchildren, Erik Leon Wilkinson, Whitney Bradford Roberts, Willis Heath Wilkinson, Sara Roberts Greene and her husband, Wallace Parcell Green; brother and sisters-in-law, Charlie and Doris Moore of Skipwith and Rachel Hunziker of Richmond, NC also survive her. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 2-3PM at the church. They would like to thank all of the staff of Somerset and Halifax Regional Hospice.
