Rosalyn Janell (Nell) Puryear Hudson

VIRGILINA Rosalyn JaNell (Nell) Puryear Hudson of Virgilina passed away in peace on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 85.Born in Halifax County on August 2, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Mary Wilborn Puryear.She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Edward Hudson, Jr. Nellwas a dedicated member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. She was a beautician for over 50 years. For many years Professional Beauty Salon was her second home. She is survived by her granddaughters, Ann Kathryn Hudson and Ashley Hudson Green; great grandchildren, Jacob Comer, Dixie Overby, Addison Bowen and Julianna Green; brother, Phil Puryear (Patsy); and sister, Betty Caldwell (Jack). In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by son, Edward Dean Hudson; sister, Doris Marks; and brothers, J.T. Puryear, Lindy Puryear and Jerry Puryear. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 14, 2021at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Johnny Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home from 6 - 8:00 PM.
