Roy Lee Barksdale

GORDONSVILLE, VA Mr. Roy Lee Barksdale of Gordonsville, VA passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the age of 84. Born in Halifax County, on May 10, 1934, he was the son of the late Henry Thomas Barksdale and the late Martha Moore Barksdale. Mr. Barksdale was raised here in Halifax County and was of the Methodist faith. He was self -employed as a car salesman. He is survived by a brother, Owen Barksdale and wife, Nell of Alton; special friend, Betty Coates of Gordonsville, VA and a number of nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jesse, Winston, and William Barksdale. A Graveside service will be held Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Bonnie Pizzeck officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of his brother, Owen and Nell Barksdale, 2243 Cedar Grove Road, Alton, VA.
