Roy Singleton Rogers

ALTON, VA - Mr. Roy Singleton Rogers of Alton, VA died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the age of 69. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on December 28, 1946 to the late Guy Singleton Rogers and the late Mildred Link Rogers.Roy was a farmer and retired from Collins & Aikman in Roxboro. He enjoyed fishing and playing his guitar. Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife of 28 years, Helen Rachel Walker Rogers; step sons, Charles Bowes (Pam) of Semora, NC and Mark Bowes (Tammy) of Timberlake, NC; eleven step grandchildren and eleven step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church with the Reverend Bonnie Pizzeck officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Saturday, July 23 from 7:00 Pm until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home, 1243 Cedar Grove Rd., Alton.
