Roy Hump Williamson

Mr. Roy Franklin "Hump" Williamson, 76, husband of Betty Stone Williamson, died Thursday, June 12, 2008 at his home. The son of the late Samuel Scott and Lucy Frazier Williamson, Hump was a retired tobacco and cattle farmer and a member of Hitesburg Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 2PM Sunday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverends Bob Watts and Billy Wilkins officiating. Interment will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery. In addition to his wife of 58 years, Hump is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Dennis Weston of Clarksville; son, Michael Overbey, Sr. of Nelson and grandchildren, Bobby Jean Williamson and Stacey Jones, both of Nelson. Also surviving Mr. Williamson are great grandchildren, William "Buck" Cox, II; Ashley Watson; and Daniel, Travis, Brandon & Matthew Jones; a sister Eva Saunders of South Boston and brothers, Dennis and Pee Wee Williamson, both of Nelson. He was preceded in death by a brothers, Ray and James Williamson and sister Ruby Compton. The family will receive friends 7-9pm Saturday at the funeral home.
