CLOVER Roy Rogers Wilmouth of Clover passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the age of 72. Born in Halifax County on February 17, 1949, he was the son of the late Lonnie Harris Wilmouth and the late Myrtle Virginia Moorefield Wilmouth. Roy was fondly known as King of the Cowboys by his brothers, and always had his B.B. gun with him growing up. He enjoyed watching his Western's on the TV and loved listening to country music. He was a good ole' country boy in all aspects, and loved horses and ponies. Roy was a reliable handyman to the Clover community for many years before being diagnosed as a diabetic. Even though Roy was a diabetic he still enjoyed his sweets, particularly Hershey Kisses, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and chocolate milk. Roy is survived by brothers, Carl Wilmouth and James Wilmouth; aunts, Helen and Bessie; uncle, Johnny Buck; cousins, Kathleen Wilmouth, Mary Jane Medley, and Carol Smith; nieces & nephews, Wanda Moretz, Melvin Day, Nancy Majors and Vickie Cossavella and numerous other family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Bobby Jean Martin and Bessie Day; and a niece, Lois Ann Day. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 15th at 2pm at Clover Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to help the family with funeral expenses.
