Ruby "Hazel" Hughes Poole

Lynchburg, VA Mrs. Ruby “Hazel” Hughes Poole of Lynchburg and formerly of Clarksville, VA passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020 at the age of 88.“Hazel” was born in Halifax County on September 18, 1931 to the late Dewey Berryman Hughes and the late Neriss Bowen Hughes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barton Patrick Poole. “Hazel” was a graduate of Virgilina High School and a member of Hitesburg Baptist Church. She retired from Burlington Industries after 39 years of employment. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Patrick Poole; brothers, Earl Linwood Hughes and Terry Berryman Hughes. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Hitesburg Baptist Church with Reverend Ian Rigney officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
