Ruby Eleanor Hodnett Wade

Mrs. Ruby Eleanor Hodnett Wade of 7801 Salem Church Rd., Richmond, VA (formerly of South Boston, VA) died Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the age of 92. She was born in Campbell Co., Va on October 3, 1919 to the late Joseph Pruden Hodnett and the late Sallie Evans Jordan Hodnett and was married to the late Alfred Stuart Wade. Mrs. Wade was a day care provider, an actively involved member of Ash Avenue Baptist Church, and a past member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include a daughter, Elinor Wade Owen and husband, Preston of Richmond, VA; a son, Harold Stuart Wade and wife, Cheryle of Wilmington, NC; granddaughter, Denise Owen Bagnell and husband, Chet and son, Derek; grandson, Tim P. Owen and wife, Jefte and step son Andrew Canbantac; granddaughter-in-law, Jen and children, Cierra & Jason Owen; grandson, Evan Wade; granddaughter-in-law, Margaret Wade and children, Carson & Mason Wade. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Ash Ave. Baptist Church with Rev. John Eure officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Bottom Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Home on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
