Ruby L. Lacks

Mrs. Ruby L. Lacks, age 96, of 1047 Mosley Ferry Road, Clover died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Lacks was born in Halifax County on August 17, 1913 the daughter of the late Thomas U. Lacks and Hattie Whitlow Lacks and was married to the late Edgar Carlton Lacks, Sr. She was a member of Clover Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Lacks is survived by two daughters; Peggy L. Wazeka of Clover and Brenda L. McDannald and husband Mac of South Boston, a son, E. Carlton Lacks, Jr. and wife, Deborah of Brookneal; a brother Roy C. Lacks and wife, Sylvia of Halifax, 10 Grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren, and 4 Great- Great-Grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Minnie L Smith, Gertrude L. Clark, Louise L. Hair, Grace L. Stanley and Alice L. Overby; her brothers Thomas W. Lacks, Garland M. Locks, and Earl Lacks. Funeral Services for Ruby L. Lacks will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Clover Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Moore and Rev. Bill Greenwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Clover Cemetery The family will receive friends Friday, October 30, 2009 at Clover Baptist Church from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home.
