Ruby Weatherford Rickman

Ruby Weatherford Rickman of South Boston passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the age of 72.  She was born in Halifax County on July 10, 1951 to the late James Weatherford and the late Mary Barksdale Weatherford.  She is survived by her husband, James Rickman of 53 years.

Ruby started her education at 51 years of age. She received her associates degree in medical assisting at Phillips National then went on to become a LPN. She worked at Woodview for over 10 years.

She is survived by her husband, Jim;  siblings, Donnie Weatherford, Timothy Weatherford & Gracie Pool. She was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Rickman and a sister, Marie Slayton.
Her husband would like to thank the neighborhood for checking in and also to the hospice nurses and Sheila Forlines.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clinton McKinney officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1-2 Pm at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
