Ruby Helderman Yancey

Ruby Helderman Yancey, 93, widow of Marshall Anderson Yancey, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Somerset Assisted Living in South Boston. She was born in Monroe, NC on January 19, 1920 to Alby Lee and Mamie Wise Helderman. A graduate of National Business College in Norfolk, Ruby was retired from the Clarksville branch of the United States Postal Service. She was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3PM Saturday in Oakhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday at Ruby's home in Clarksville. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Betsy Y. Ford of Ebony and Donna Y. and Ben DeVane of Peachtree Ga. Ruby is also survived by her seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bobby Ford. Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.wclfh.com.
