Russell Spry Williams

Reverend Russell Spry Williams, age 81, passed into eternal rest on Sunday, May 1, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Williams, of the home, a daughter, Anne, of New York; grandchildren, Victor and Deja Moore of Birmingham, AL; sister, Marjorie Thad Carter and brother, Frederick Betty Williams, both of Chase City, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. After a brief battle with Lou Gehrig's ALS, Reverend Williams passed away at Chase City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He will long be remembered for his work in the community since moving to Chase City about seven years ago. Reverend Williams served as interim pastor at Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church and other churches throughout the community. Memorial services for Reverend Williams will be held 3:30 PM Friday at Thyne Memorial.
