Ruth Purvis Ashworth

Ruth Purvis Ashworth passed away Friday, May 1, 2020, at the age of 78. She was born in Orange County, NC, on August 1, 1941, to the late Robert and Ora Dixon Purvis. Ruth was a graduate of Chapel Hill High School and was retired from UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. She attended Center United Methodist Church. Ruth is survived by her children, Lori Hamlett (James) of Buffalo Junction, VA,Karen Wearmouth of Waxhaw, NC, Charles "Chuck" Ashworth (Laurie) of Cascade Mills, NC and Robert "Bob" Ashworth of Chapel Hill, NC; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donations to Center United Methodist Church, 9204 Center Church Rd., Snow Camp, NC 27349. Services are private.
