Ruth Dale Lester Cooper

HALIFAX- Mrs. Ruth Dale Lester Cooper of Halifax passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019 at the age of 77. She was born in Java, VA on July 6, 1941 the daughter of the late Walter Aubrey Lester, Jr. and the late Virginia Wyatt Lester and was married to the late Charles Chrysler Cooper, Sr. for 55 years. She was a retired school teacher.Ruth accepted the Lord as her Saviour July,1966. Survivors include her son, Charles Chrysler Cooper, Jr. and wife, Pam of Castalia, NC; her daughter, Sandra C. Bane and her husband, Charles of Halifax; brother, Aubrey Lester and wife, Alice of Salem; grandchildren, Christopher Cooper of Castalia, NC, Charlsie Vanderpoel and her husband, Brent of Louisburg, NC, Emily Bane of Scottsburg, and Casey Daniel of Kearney, NE; and great grandchildren, Hannah Grace Cooper, Christopher Cooper, Gracey Cooper, Braxton Vanderpoel, Bryce Vanderpoel and Cameron Murphy. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Delores Hogan. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM and at other times at the home.
