Ruth Thompson Torian

Ms. Ruth Thompson Torian of 6090 Bethel Rd., Scottsburg, VA died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the age of 87. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on February 10, 1926 to the late Harry H. Thompson and the late Evelyn Mayes Thompson. Ms. Torian was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Paul G. Torian and wife, Janice of Scottsburg, VA; three sisters, Frances Throckmorton of Scottsburg, VA, Christine Polseck of Titusville, FL, Evelyn Phillips of Rockville, VA; one brother, Owen Thompson of Scottsburg, VA; two grandchildren, Shawn G. Torian and wife, Amy of Scottsburg, VA and Shannon T. Snow and husband, Andy of Wilmington, NC; two great grandchildren, Lily Torian and Levi Torian. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Florence Krempler and Shirley Covington, and three brothers, Robert Thompson, George Thompson, and Herbert Thompson. Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Clover Cemetery with Rev. Greg Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of, Paul & Janice Torian, 6100 Bethel Rd., Scottsburg, VA.
