Ruth Link Wilkins

ALTON - Mrs. Ruth Link Wilkins of Alton, VA died Tuesday, August 23, 2016. She was born in Halifax Co., VA to the late Joseph L. Link and the late Sallie Ramsey Link and was married to the late Clarence F. Wilkins, Sr. A member of Alton Baptist Church, she was a beautician and worked at Collins & Aikman in Roxboro for 25 years. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Wilkins is survived by her son, Wayne Wilkins of Alton; daughters, Carolyn W. Culley and husband, Larry of Rougemont, NC and Joanne Rogers and husband, John Allen of South Boston; grandchildren, Crystal C. Dunn, Wayne Culley, Joseph Allen “Joey” Rogers, and Joshua Rogers; great grandchildren, Dominick Dunn and Ty Dunn; sister-in-law, Mary Frances Caudle; and special friend, Pat Roberts. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, J.L. Link, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Alton Baptist Church with the Reverend Dennis Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Alton Baptist Church on Friday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM and at other times at the home, 1048 Alton Post Office Rd., Alton and at the home of Joanne and John Allen Rogers, 3110 Huell Matthews Hwy., South Boston.
