Ruth Strickland Wilson

Mrs. Ruth Strickland Wilson, 89, widow of Horace Gentry Wilson, died Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at her home. A native of Kittrell, NC, Ruth was the daughter of Ernest and Lessie Harpe Strickland. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 2PM Saturday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with her son, the Reverend Donald Gentry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery at Union Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to her son, survivors are sister, Laura Strickland of Kitrrell; brothers, Thurston Strickland of Kittrell, NC and Alvin Strickland of Franklinton, NC. Also surviving are grandchildren, Laurie Pearson, Cassandra Wilson and Melissa Newcomb and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1-2PM.
