Ryan Thomas Puryear

Mr. Ryan Thomas Puryear of 19065 Philpott Rd., Sutherlin, VA died on Monday, December 24, 2012 at the age of 18. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on September 10, 1994. Mr. Puryear was a Senior at Halifax Co. High School. Survivors include his mother, Juanita Puryear Holt of Sutherlin, VA; his father, Larry Thomas Holt of South Boston, VA; one sister, Jessica Holt Hamlett of Scottsburg, VA; three brothers, Zachary Holt of Sutherlin, VA, Jeremy Holt of South Boston, VA, and Corey Holt of Chatham, VA; paternal grandfather, Lonnie Holt of Alton, VA; step grandfather, J.T. Epps; one niece and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Helen Wilmoth Epps and paternal grandmother, Mary King Holt. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home.
