Sallie Satterfield Carter

SOUTH BOSTON Mrs. Sallie Satterfield Carter, widow of Horace Louis Carter, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the age of 90.Born in Halifax County on August 2, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Samuel Elam Satterfield and the late Sallie Carter Satterfield.She was a member of Dan River Baptist Church. Sallie is survived by sons, Horace Edward “Eddie” Carter of Keeling, VA and Michael Louis Carter (Jean) of Raleigh, NC; 2 Granddaughters, Dr. Christy Carter of Tampa, Florida and Kathryn Brown; 2 Grandsons, William Carter of New York and Jeremy Carter; 5 Great Grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Wilson Satterfield and Keith Satterfield and a sister, Myrtle Satterfield. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Olive Branch United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Doug Gibson officiating.
