Sally Newton Keeton

Sally Elizabeth "Lizzie" Newton Keeton, 77, widow of Charlie Harden Keeton, Sr. died Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Halifax Regional Hospital. Sally was born September 1, 1932 to John Robert and Annie Lou Puryear Newton. She was a homemaker. Funeral services will be 3PM Tuesday at Nelson Baptist Church with the Reverend Jim McAlister officiating. Interment will follow in the Keeton family cemetery. Mrs. Keeton is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Regina K. and Lawrence Oakley of Oxford, NC and Shirley K. and Charles Kaywood; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Susan Keeton, daughter-in-law, Kathy S. Keeton, and son-in-law, Samuel Oakley, all of Nelson. Thirteen grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and her brother, Ernest Newton, Sr. of Virgilina also survive. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Oakley, son, Charlie H. Keeton, Jr. and grandsons, Dwayne Oakley and Jason Kaywood. The family will receive friends 7-9PM Monday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
