Samuel Zaye Brewer

The Reverend Samuel Zaye Brewer passed to his eternal home on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at the age of 77. He was born in Yancey County, NC on March 25, 1945 to the late Elbert Thomas Brewer and the late Grace Hensley Brewer. He is survived by his wife, Jerrie Moore Brewer. Rev. Brewer was a graduate of Fruitland Bible College and later received his doctorate degree from American Bible Institute. He was a former minister of Tungsten Baptist Church in Henderson, NC for 47 years. Family life was very important to him and his grandchildren were his life. He made sure to attend anything he could and be a big part of their lives. In addition to his wife of 59 years, Jerrie, he is survived by sons, Zaye Brewer (Melanie) and Brent Brewer (Susan); grandchildren, Grace Tolson (Alex), Sarah Brewer (Graham), Gavin Newton (Karrie), Hannah Brewer, Rorie Brewer and Tripp Brewer; great grandchildren, Reid Newton and Loeffler Tolson; siblings, Bea Austin, Jim Brewer and Johnny Brewer and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Tom Brewer and Gray Brewer. A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Tungsten Baptist Church. Immediately following the service, the family will receive friends at the family life center. The family requests in lieu of flowers please consider memorials to Tungsten Baptist Church Youth Fund.
