Sandra Mae Rash Norman Deerwester

Quinton, VA - Mrs. Sandra Mae Rash Norman Deerwester, widow of Jesse Deerwester, of Quinton, VA passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the age of 77. She was born in Fredericksburg, VA on July 14, 1943 the daughter of the late Edward Rash and the late Lois Culley Gillespie. Sandra was an office administrator for the FAA and was a very involved member of Village Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir. Dedicated to caring for her family, Sandra’s passion was taking care of people. Survivors include her son, Michael Paul Norman (Stacy) of Virginia; daughter, Carol Sue Burger (Clemens) of Indiana; son, Jesse Oliver Deerwester (Renee) of Oregon; brothers, Richard Rash of New Hampshire, Mike Rash of Virginia, and Sam Gillespie of Virginia; sister, Silvia Kroutil of Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Watkins Cooper Lyon Chapel with Reverend Mike Reynolds and Reverend Jane Lyon officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 PM until 2 PM.
