Shannon Tillotson Hite

Mrs. Shannon Tillotson Hite, 87, widow of Arthur Kendrick Hite, died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at The Woodview in South Boston. Daughter of William Lee and Althea Newton Tillotson, Shannon was born and reared in the Buffalo Springs Community. She attended Antioch Baptist Church where she had been a member of the choir, and served on the Social Committee. After working at Burlington Industries for a brief period, she was employed with Dollar General Store for 16 years, retiring in 1983. Funeral services will be Saturday 2 PM at Antioch Baptist Church with the Reverend Jane Lyon officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. Mrs. Hite is survived by her daughter and son in law, Judy Hite & Lynn Williams of Chase City; her son and daughter in law, Wendell Kendrick & Betty Hite of South Boston and her sister, Irene Fossett of Buffalo Junction. Grandchildren, Wendy H. Knott, Stuart Kendrick Hite, Kelly W. Bluhm and Rhonda D. Witt and great grandchildren, Kelsey Lee Knott , Allie Bluhm, Erich Bluhm, Darcey Witt and Danielle Witt. The family will receive friends Friday 7 until 9 PMat Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
