Sharon Elizabeth Cochran Roberts

South Boston - Sharon Elizabeth Cochran Roberts of South Boston went peacefully to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at the age of 63. She was born in Bartow, Florida, on March 23, 1956 to the late Earl “Bud” and Estelle Rimes Cochran. Sharon retired with great pride as an equipment operator from the Phosphate Mines. Sharon’s devotion to Jesus Christ gave her the hope of eternal life which she now enjoys. She was so passionate about sharing the message of the Cross for all who would hear. Sharon was a dedicated mother and grandmother who left her family without any worries as to where she would spend eternity. Though she suffered many years with COPD, she has now traded in her oxygen tanks and breathing treatments for a heavenly robe of righteousness. ~…to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8. She was blessed with a large and loving family and is survived by a daughter, Tricia Rodgers (Skipper); sons Larry Wilson (Michele), Shaun Boddy and Shane Boddy (Christina); eight grandchildren; and siblings Ricky Cochran, Earl Cochran Jr. and Barbara Jean Yaun. Also surviving is a special friend, Barbara Wade; a host of other family and friends; and her cat, “Trouble.” Sharon was preceded in death by a brother, David Cochran, and sisters Virginia Watson and Jeanette “Pumpkin” Newsome. Sharon was laid to rest with a graveside service on Friday, June 21, 2019, with the Rev. Tim Bowes officiating at the Trinity Holiness Church Cemetery.
