Shawn Michael Lloyd

Shawn Michael Lloyd, aka "Street King", passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the age of 34.  He was born in Halifax County on January 3, 1990 to Cynthia Wilkes Lloyd and the late Larry Dean Lloyd.  He is survived by his wife, Amanda Inge Lloyd.

He was known as "Street King" by his friends due to his love of drag racing and making callout videos. He loved watching and working on cars, trucks, motorcycles, drag cars, and was especially involved with mustangs. He was a car show enthusiast showing cars locally and in surrounding areas. Shawn was a true family man, devoting his life to his children and family.  He had a heart of gold and would turn over backwards to help others. In addition to his hobby of cars, he loved fishing and cooking.

Shawn leaves behind his wife, Amanda Inge Lloyd; children, Luke Michael Lloyd and Colt Dean Lloyd; step children, Samuel Eli Medley, Ashlyn Brooke Inge, and Madeline Rose Medley; his mom, Cindy Lloyd; grandchildren, Chloe, Kade, Tatum, Easton, Layklen and Colsen; aunt & uncle, Cathy Barksdale and Bobby Barksdale; special cousins, BJ Barksdale, Jeremy Barksdale (Brooke), Skylar Barksdale, Kaylin Barksdale, Nash Barksdale and Knox Barksdale; Mother and father in-law, Angela and Barry Inge; dear special friends, Walter Johnson and Earl Winbush and god father, Ronnie Leadbetter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Dean Lloyd; grandparents, "Papa" Michael Wilkes & Betty Bradner, Josephine "Nanny" Tharpe & Herman Lloyd; great aunt, Catbird Tharpe.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Halifax Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
