Sheila Lynn Blanks

HALIFAX, VA Ms. Sheila Lynn Blanks of Cowford Road, Halifax, VA passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the age of 57.Born in South Boston, VA on August 5, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Joyce Dunn Blanks and Dennis Lavelton Blanks, Sr. and wife, Lisa.Sheila also leaves behind her lifetime partner, Janice Glasscock. Sheila was a member of Ash Avenue Baptist Church and a mental health aide at a group home for mentally challenged.She was passionate about life and animals, especially birds and loved her family. Other than her father and step mother, she is survived by her brothers and sisters, Donna Blanks and fiancé, Kim Crews, Denise Throckmorton and husband Darrell, Dennis Blanks, Jr, Melissa Clarke and husband, Tyler and John Blanks; daughter, Kelly Smith and husband, James and Kimberly Glasscock; grandchildren, Bryce fuller, Brayden Fuller, Brennan Mitchell, A.J. Smith and Ashlynn Smith and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Other than her mother, she was preceded in death by grandparents, Myrtle and James Dunn and John and Annie Blanks. A Graveside service will be Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Oak Ridge Cemetery at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home from 6:00-7:30 PM and other times the home of Kelly and James Smith, 1241 Union Grove Road, Halifax, VA
