Shirley Daniel Hunt

Mrs. Shirley Daniel Hunt of 104 Robin Hood Rd, South Boston, VA died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the age of 81. She was born July 16, 1931 to the late John Robert Daniel and the late Rowena Smith Daniel and was married to Roy M. Hunt. She was a retired employee of Winn Dixie Supermarkets where she was the Head Cashier/Bookkeeper, a member of Black Walnut Baptist Church serving as a former Sunday School teacher, and also a member of the Southern Belles Bowling League. Survivors include her husband; Roy M. Hunt of South Boston, VA; daughter Patricia Hunt Dobson & husband, Carlton of Nathalie, VA; son John Kevin Hunt & wife, Colleen of Chesapeake, VA; grandson, Timothy Daniel Dobson; granddaughter, Rebecca L. Dobson & fiancé, Aaron Compton; special niece, Judy Vicks; special nephew, Mike Chandler; special nephew, Robert Hunt & wife, Joyce Hann; and a number of other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Mary Beth Dobson; and a sister, Elizabeth Chandler. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 3, 2012 at 11 am in Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in Black Walnut Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Sunday night from 7 until 8:30, and at other times at the home.
