Shirley Wilson Tillotson

Shirley Wilson Tillotson, 73, wife of Irvin Tillotson, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Halifax Regional Hospital.She was born in Halifax County on May 3, 1941 to Allie Benjamin Wilson, deceased, and Virginia Gupton Wilson of Virgilina.A graduate of Halifax High School with the Class of 1959, Shirley retired from Burlington Industries after 41 years of service, lastly as a Sample Allocation Clerk.A member of Buffalo Baptist Church, funeral services will be held there at 2pm on Sunday with the Reverends Wally Kelly and Joe McDowell officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery.In addition to her mother and her husband of 49 years, Shirley is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Johnnie and Sally “Sam” Tillotson of Clarksville and David Tillotson of Aarons Creek.Her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Glenna and Charles Lingafelt of Gretna also survive.The family will receive friends 7-9 pm Saturday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
