Stewart Thomas Barnes

Clarksville, Virginia - Mr. Stewart Thomas Barnes, husband of Maryann Doran Barnes, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020, at the age of 74. He was born on the 11th of September, 1945, in Princeton, NJ, to the late Thomas William and Evelyn Stewart Barnes. Stewart was a US Navy veteran. He was an accomplished carpenter and worked many years as a general contractor. He moved from Lebanon Township in NJ to Clarksville, where he enjoyed canoeing, kayaking, and fishing on the lake.His other hobbies included woodworking, drawing, and traveling, but being with his children and grandchildren was what he treasured most. Stewart is survived by his wife, Maryann; daughters, Kelly Anne Barnes (Jeff Yau) of Pearland, TX and Kate Lynn Barnes (Jack Rosenthal) of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Elizabeth, James and Baby Nitro; sister, Beverley Barnes of Mechanicsville, NY and in-laws, James and Van Loc Doran, Veronica and Warren Westbo and John and Cindy Doran. A Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater, NJ. A memorial service will be held at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Clarksville, VA at a later date.
