Susan Smith Elliott

OXFORD, NC Mrs. Susan Smith Elliott of Oxford, NC, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at the age of 76.Born on March 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Wimbish Wilson Smith and the late Kate ForlinesSmith and was married to Herman Elliott. Susan was born and raised in Murphy, NC, and during her life lived in Andrews, NC, West Virginia and Virginia.She was a graduate of Halifax County High School Class of 1960 and was a CNA with Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital for many years. She was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church. Other than her husband, Herman, she is survived by a daughter, Katherine E. Vaughan and husband, Wayne of Buffalo Junction; sons, Norman Elliott and wife, Linda of Oxford, NC, Dale Elliott and wife, Tracy of Bullock, NC, Robert Elliott of Bullock, NC and Chad Elliott and wife, Melissa of Oxford, NC; sister, Winnie Blanks of Clarksville; 10 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services for Susan Elliott will be Monday, October 15, 2018 at Grassy Creek Baptist Church, Bullock,NC.at 3:00 PM with Reverend Cameron Currin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM at WatkinsCooper Lyon Funeral Home, Clarksville and other times the home, 9195 Cornwall Road, Oxford, NC.
