Sylvia Newton Morris

South Boston- Mrs. Sylvia Newton Morris of South Boston, VA died Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the age of 67. She was born in Virgilina, VA on March 6, 1948 to the late George Washington Newton and the late Mabel Campbell Newton and was married to Ernest Franklin Morris. Mrs. Morris was a 1967 graduate of Halifax Co. High School and a member of Ash Avenue Baptist Church. She was a beautician for many years and owned and operated Sylvia's Beauty Salon. Mrs Morris is survived by her husband, Ernest Franklin Morris of South Boston, VA; and a sister, Kay Newton Reaves of Cluster Springs, VA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Norman Talley officiating. Burial will follow in Black Walnut Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM and at other times at the home, 1045 Newton Farm Rd., South Boston, VA.
