Talmadge Wayne Smith

Mr. Talmadge Wayne Smith of 3188 Hudson Rd., Virgilina, VA died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the age of 88. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on August 20, 1924 to the late Samuel Jones Smith and the late Lula Allen Smith and was married to the late Dorothy Frazier Smith. Mr. Smith was a farmer and warehouseman. He was a member of North Fork Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, served on several committees, and sang in the choir and quartet. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Smith Stevens of Virgilina, VA; three grandchildren, Alicia Stevens Roberts and Dena Joy McCready, both of Virgilina, VA, and Talmadge Carlton Smith of High Springs, FL; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, six brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 3:00 PM at North Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
