Teresa Thames Wilkinson

NELSON, VA. Teresa Thames Wilkinson, 66, died on Thursday, January 21, 2016. She was born inOxford, NC on January 25, 1949 to the late Billy and Rosa Moore Thames. Teresa married Douglas Leon Wilkinson, Jr. on January 30, 1971. Teresa graduated from Bluestone High School in 1967 and was a graduate of Averett and Radford Universities where she studied Elementary Education. She was a teacher at Southerlin, Bolling Brook, St. James, and C. E. Curtis elementary schools. Upon her retirement in 2013, she returned to Nelson, Virginia. Mrs. Wilkinson is survived by her husband Douglas; sons and daughters-in-law Eric Leon and Melissa Wilkinson of Chester and Willis Heath and Kimberly Wilkinson of Chester; sister and brother-in-law Joan and Steve Roberts of Clarksville; sister-in law Carolyn (Len) Aronson; nieces and nephews Jamie Bohannon, Whit Roberts and Sarah (Parc) Greene; and granddaughter McKenzie Wilkinson. Visitation for friends and family will begin at1:00 PM, Friday, January 29, 2016 followed by the Memorial Service at 2:00 PM at Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church in Clarksville, VA 23927 with the Reverend John Bright officiating.
