Thelma Vaughn Messer

Mrs. Thelma Vaughn Messer, 86, wife of Walter Gibson Messer, died Tuesday, November 7, 2004 at her home. Born and reared in Alamance County to the late Charlie Jake and Carrie Hall Vaughn, Thelma retired from A.H. Robbins Pharmaceutical Company with 19 years service. Funeral services will be 3 PM Friday at Alamance Memorial Park Chapel in Burlington, NC with Reverend Darrel Kroeze officiating. Interment will be in Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Messer is survived by daughters, Edith Rhea Hunt of Clarksville, Barbara Kay Jones of Richmond, and Judith M. Largent of Heber Springs, AR; sister, Mary Vaughn Cates of Burlington, NC; brothers, Raymond Vaughn of Baltimore, MD and Reverend Donald Vaughn of Clarksville. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2-4PM and 7-8:30PM Thursday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to Nutbush Presbyterian Church, where Mrs. Messer was a member.
