LOUISBURG THOMAS B. AVERETT Thomas Beam Averett, 84, of Louisburg transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.Born on July 20, 1933 to the late Walter Thomas and Suelene Vaughan Averett.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Haven Averett; daughter, Fonda Gail Averett and his sister, Dorothy Bagbey.Thomas’ girls were truly special to him.He was a people person, he loved to talk and was very outspoken.He was a deacon at Florence Avenue Baptist Church in Virgilina, VA where he sang in a quartet.Thomas enjoyed gardening, playing pool and Duke Sports. The family will receive friends Sunday at 2:00 pm at Florence Avenue Baptist Church, 9629 NC Hwy 96, Oxford, NC where funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm with Reverends Troy Rust and Herbert Brown officiating.Burial will follow in Virgilina Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Collins; daughters, Rhonda Faye Parham (Graham), Sherry Riddle (Michael) and Susan Lynn Denny; step-son, William Wesley Young; step-daughter, Lisa Tant (Bobby); grandchildren, W.T. Satterfield (Allison), and Robyn Forbes (Gary); three great grandchildren, Chloe, Joaquin and Kaitlin. Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N.
