Thomas Orrel Dunn

Mr. Thomas Orrel Dunn of 3060 Ashton Hall Road, South Boston, VA died Friday, March 1, 2013 at the age of 79. He was born in Halifax County, VA to the late Raymond O. Dunn and the late Liza Whitt Dunn, and was married to Mary Alice Martin Dunn. Mr. Dunn was a retired technician for Collins & Aikman, and he was currently working as a flagger at VIRginia International Raceway. He was also a member of Mercy Seat Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice M. Dunn of South Boston, VA; one daughter, Pill D. Gosney and husband Mark of South Boston, VA: one son, Thomas Baker Dunn of Freeport Bahamas; four grandchildren, Laura Gosney Wellons, Matt Gosney and fiance, Kristen Baylous, Scott Dunn and Sarah Dunn and her fiance Thomas Cramer; and by two great grandchildren, Kirsten Wellons and Kade Dyer. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a daughter, KK Dunn Worsham and a daughter-in-law, Regina Cannon Dunn. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 4, 2013 at 2 PM at Mercy Seat Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ed Melvin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 7 until 8:30 at Brooks Funeral Home.
