Thomas Mackie Ward

Thomas Mackie Ward, 84, widower of Lorene Claiborne Ward, died Friday, January 07, 2011 at MeadowView Terrace in Clarksville. Born June 14, 1926 to William John and Virginia Gordon Ward, Mackie was a graduate of Clarksville High School with the Class of 1943. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a charter member of the VFW Post # 8163. He was also a member of the Clarksville Ruritan Club and Twin Rivers Masonic Lodge # 336. A farmer, Mackie became a partner in the Virginia Carolina Tobacco Warehouse in 1975. Prior to that, he operated Farmer's Warehouse. Graveside services will be 11 AM Monday at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Greg Randall officiating. Mackie is survived by his son, Thomas Mackie "Tim" Ward, Jr. and his sister, Frances Ward Tarkenton. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.wclfh.com.
