Thomas Lee Martin

Thomas Lee Martin of Halifax, VA, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the age of 79. He was born in Scottsburg, VA, on March 19, 1944, to the late Willie Herbert Martin and the late Erma Compton Martin and was married to Teresa Short Martin, who survives. Lee was a 40-year employee at Burlington Industries and later drove a school bus. He was a family man who loved his church, Mt. Cana Church. He particularly enjoyed making stews with the men’s club.

In addition to his wife, Teresa, Lee is survived by his children, Sandra Cash (Steve) and Mark Martin (Kristen); step daughter, Stephanie Terry (Marvin); grandchildren, Christian Anderson (Nick), Jordan, Kayla and Ryker Martin, Sydney and Sam Cash, Tyler Gordon (Roni) and Ethan Terry; great grandchildren, Lillian, Violet, Emma and Watt Anderson and Luna Gordon. He is also survived by sisters, Brenda Hancock, Marion Grey Clayton, Betty Jean Martin, and Judy Martin. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 25 at Mt. Cana Church with the Reverends Mike West and Randy Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning one hour before the service and all other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be considered to Mt. Cana Church, St. Jude Children's Hospital or any charity of your choice.
