Thomas Elcon Ramsey

Clarksville, VA - Thomas Elcon Ramsey, husband of Joyce Yarboro Ramsey, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the age of 62. He was born in Granville County, NC on December 11, 1955 to William Washington and Virginia “Nell” Cifers Ramsey. Tommy worked with Burlington Industries as a boiler plant operator until the plant closed. He also worked with the NC Department of Transportation, Mecklenburg Correctional Center and most recently with Red Oak Excavating. Tommy was a member of the Sandy Fork Hunt Club, the Sons of the Confederates and served as a Mason with Virgilina Lodge 248. He was also a lifelong member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his wife and parents, Tommy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Jennifer Ramsey and their daughters, Ajae and Jemma. His sister, Faye Middleton, also survives. Tommy was affectionately known as Papa by his granddaughters, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Vickie MacIntyre. A memorial service will be held at1 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Union Chapel Baptist Church with the Reverends Jackie Wray and Herbert Brown officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
