CLOVER Mr. Thomas Mark Satterfield of Clover, VA went to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the age of 58. He was born in Richmond, VA on January 16, 1959 the son of Margaret Harris Satterfield and the late Howard Thomas Satterfield and was married to Linda C. Satterfield. Mark was a retired service writer at Bridgeview Exxon, now Southern Automotive, and attended Bread of Life Church of God. In his life, Mark was blessed to live out his love of music, by sharing it with many people. He is most known for his talents on the piano, guitar and mandolin. Through the years he was privileged to sing and play with many groups including The Bluegrass Gospel Five; The Southern Gospel Boys of Danville, Va; The Gospel Melody Singers of Madison, NC; The Bohannons of South Boston, VA; Kyle Martin and the Halifax Hillbillies and The Satterfield’s of Clover, VA. He reached many souls with his friendly and loving spirit. There were not many places he could go without knowing someone and greeting them with a cheerful heart. His greatest accomplishment in life though, was his family. He always took pride in his wife Linda, his daughter Lauren and most of all in his granddaughter Sophia. He lead a life filled with love, music and faith. Mark is survived by his wife, Linda C. Satterfield; his mother, Margaret H. Satterfield of South Boston; daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Moldvay of Danville; granddaughter, Sophia Elizabeth Moldvay; special friends, Shelia and Jerry Bohannon; and numerous friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the South Boston Church of God with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery in Scottsburg. The family will receive friends at the South Boston Church of God on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM.
