Thomas Ellsworth Wilkins

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. Thomas Ellsworth Wilkins, Sr., 82, husband of Peggy Ingram Wilkins, died Wednesday Nov. 26, 2014 at his residence in South Boston. He was the sonof the late Woodrow Waverly and Lucille Whitt Wilkins. A native of Halifax County, Ellsworth was a Tobacconist with Imperial Tobacco Company, which become Standard Tobacco.He was an active member of Mt. Cana United Methodist Church in Omega. Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 2 PM at Mount Cana United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Randy Holmes officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Additional survivors include his daughters Vickie (Doug) Boyles of Halifax and Luanne (Buddy Garrett) Wilkins of Virgilina; a son Thomas E. (Tommy) Wilkins, Jr. of South Boston; a brother Wesley (Linda) Wilkins of Pilot Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Stephanie Catron, Scott Wilkins, Bert Boyles, Amberly Moon, Amanda Perkins, and Adam Wilkins; and great grandchildren, Sarah, Abby, Laci, and Brooklyn. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Halifax Regional Hospice, 2204 Wilborn Ave., South Boston, VA 24592.The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Friday night from7PM until 9 PM.
