Tommy Lewis Thaxton, Sr.

Tommy Lewis Thaxton Sr. of Nelson, VA passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the age of 68. Born in Halifax County on January 28, 1954, he was the son of the late Anna Pulliam and was married to Kathy Smith Thaxton, who survives.

Tommy was a retired truck driver with Thomason Trucking. He also was a lifetime volunteer with South Boston Fire Company. Tommy loved fishing with his boys and other family members, making memories.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons, Tommy L. Thaxton, Jr,(Chastidy), Michael W. Thaxton (Melisa) and Travis D. Thaxton; step children, Alice Comer (Troy) and Charlie Keeton, III; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his caregiver, Dorothy Hite.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Boston with Reverend Jack Stewart officiating.
