Vera Dorio Buchanan

Clarksville, VA –

Vera Dorio Buchanan, wife of the late Robert “Buck” Buchanan, passed away on Friday morning, July 14, 2023, at the age of 86. Born in White Plains, NY, on August 11, 1936, she was the daughter of the late James and Miriam Deal Dorio. Vera was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and “neighborhood mom.” She loved to garden and cook and could often be found volunteering where needed. Vera was a gifted artist and was known for her photographs and paintings.

Cherishing her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Dan Wiles of Clarksville; grandchildren, Elaine “Ellie” Wiles and William Wiles and her sister, Linda Dorio. In addition to her husband and parents, Vera was preceded in death by a son, David Buchanan and a brother, Al Dorio.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Oakhurst Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Greg Randall officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to Clarksville Baptist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association be considered.
