Virgilina, Va. Virginia Gupton Wilson, 98, widow of Allie Benjamin Wilson, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015 at MeadowView Terrace.She was born on February 7, 1917 in Wake County, NC to the late Eugene Graham Gupton, Sr. and Nora Royster Gupton.A graduate of Virgilina High School with the Class of 1934, Virginia was employed with Burlington Industries Halifax plant for 32 years, retiring in 1982.A member of Aarons Creek Baptist Church, she was a member of the choir, former Director of the WMS and BTU, Sunbeam Leader, Vacation Bible School Volunteer and was the teacher for the Senior Adults Sunday School Class.Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Sunday, August 2nd at Aarons Creek Baptist Church with The Reverends Joe McDowell and Vance Midgett officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Wilson is survived by her son-in-law, Irvin Tillotson of Buffalo Junction, and grandsons, Johnnie Tillotson and his wife, Sally of Clarksville, and David Tillotson of Aarons Creek, her sister Gladys Gupton Thompson and husband Presley of Richmond, and her sister-in-law, Estelle, Weston and Emmy Gupton and Ruth Rickman.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Wilson Tillotson, sisters, Helen Gupton Bomar, Ruby Gupton Overby, and brothers, Eugene Graham Gupton, Jr., Prentice Vernell Gupton, William Edward Gupton, Douglas Ray Gupton, Sr., Bobby James Gupton, and Wallace Hoover Gupton.The family will receive friends Saturday, August 1st from 7 to 8:30 PM at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home is serving the Wilson family.
