Walter Gibson Messer

Mr. Walter Gibson Messer, 90, widower of Thelma Vaughn Messer, died Thursday, December 29, 2005 at MeadowView Terrace. Born in Sumter, SC and reared in Pamplin, VA. Walter was the son of Joseph Stanford and Minnie Hooker Messer. A member of the National Guard, he was a retired Foreman with Airco, where he worked for 20 years. Walter was a member of Nutbush Presbyterian Church. Graveside services will be Sunday 2PM at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington, NC with the Reverend Darrel Kroeze officiating. Mr. Messer is survived by daughters, Judith M. Largent of Heber Springs, Arkansas, Barbara ?Kay? Jones of Richmond, VA., Edith ?Rhea? Hunt of Clarksville,; and brother, Joe Messer of Beeville, TX. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7-9PM Saturday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home in Clarksville.
