Wanda Tuck Day

STATESVILLE, NC Ms. Wanda Tuck Day of Statesville, NC, formerly of Halifax County, VA, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. Born in Halifax County on July 29, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Pool Tuck, Jr and the late Cecil Wilson Tuck. Wanda was a nurse for many years. She practiced at Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston Salem NC and at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte NC. She loved reading, antiquing, shopping and the lovely roses she grew in her rose garden. She was a member of Florence Avenue Baptist Church. Leaving behind to cherish her memories are sister, Winnie Beverly Tuck; nieces, Scottie Tuck Elliott (Stacy) and Kristie Tuck Hogan (Brian); nephew, William Brann Tuck, Jr; numerous great nieces and great nephew and many other family members. Wanda shared many days with her furry best friend, Sophie. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, William Brann Tuck, Sr.and Wilson Lane Tuck, and nephew, Benjamin Snead Tuck. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Herbert Brown and Reverend Norman Talley officiating. Interment will follow in Virgilina Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 30 from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Stacy and Scottie Elliott in Virgilina VA. The family would like to express their appreciation to the medical staff of Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston Salem for the loving care she received, and for the many thoughts and prayers that were lifted up for her.
