Wanda Hughes Pool

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. Mrs. Wanda Hughes Pool of South Boston died Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the age of 58. Wanda was born in Halifax Co., VA on August 13, 1957 to the late Charlie Brann Hughes, Sr. and the late Ruby Creasy Hughes and was married to Dale Pool.She attended Shady Grove United Methodist Church and was the computer lab manager at South Boston Elementary School. Wanda enjoyed spending time at the beach and loved all kinds of animals. Mrs. Wanda Hughes Pool is survived by her husband; daughters, Fallon Hudson and husband, John and Melanie Hastings and husband, Matt; grandson, Tyler Hudson; sister, Cindy Meadows and husband, Watt; brother, Charlie Hughes, Jr. and wife, Valorie; mother-in-law, Gladys Pool; sister-in-law, Debra Dyer and husband, Elvin; a number of nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Dakota. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, John Pool. A memorial service for Mrs. Wanda Hughes Pool will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with the Reverend Shayne Estes and the Reverend Raymond Wooten officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and at other times at the home, 5121 Huell Matthews Hwy., South Boston.
