VIRGILINA, VA Mr. Watson Bryant Bowen of Hudson Road, Virgilina passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the age of 83.Born in Halifax County on February 23, 1935, he was the son of the late Oscar G. Bowen and the late Annie Talley Bowen. He was married to Annie Mae Bowen. He was a member of North Fork Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a retired farmer.He also was previously employed with Rochester Button Factory and O’Sullivan. He is survived by his wife; daughters, Wanda Bowen Jennings of Cluster Springs and Vickie Bowen Hite of South Boston; son, James Bowen of South Boston; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Truett Bowen, Mason Bowen and Garland “Bo” Bowen. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 23, 2019 at North Fork Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Reverend Doug Ballew and Reverend Larry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 PM.
