Alton, VA -- Wayne Randolph Lewis, husband of Patricia Dixon Lewis, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the age of 73. Born in Victoria, VA, on May 27, 1948, he was the son of the late Hugo and Louise Ashworth Lewis. Wayne was retired from GMW. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and will be remembered as a Godly man that loved the Lord. Wayne was a member of First Crossroads Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher. In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by his children, Troy Neil Lewis of Norlina, Amy Lewis Hilliard (William) of Greenville, NC and Gregory Alan Nelson (Donna) of Alton; grandchildren, Haylee Joplin Lewis, Sofia Lewis, Alexandra Shea Nelson, Fritz Lewis, Aaron Benton Hilliard, Evan Thomas Hilliard, Bradley Wyatt Nelson and Andrew Bryce Nelson; and siblings, Claude Lewis (Nancy) of Sutherland, Rachel Poythress (Jerry) of Henderson, Linda Bishop (Jimmy) of Halifax and Glenn Lewis (Delores) of Bracey. He was preceded in death by a son, James Daniel Nelson III; grandchild, Ethan James Lewis and siblings, Raeford Lewis, Norman Lewis, Joyce Payne and Marvin Lewis. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 22 at First Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery, 1122 Melon Road, South Boston, VA.
